Ann Arbor-Petoskey-Mackinac City-Leland-Manistee

I have friends who live in Petoskey and Leland (Michigan), and since I only vacation where I have a free place to stay, they get to see lots of me. The ride up from Ann Arbor was pretty good, but I felt rushed 'cause I got a late start. Woke up on Wednesday and headed for Harbor Springs. Highway 119 goes through there and up to Cross Village. It's an awesome ride, which starts with the above sign. The 20 miles is just unbelievable. There's one part of the ride called The Tunnel of Trees. I dont really need to describe it, since I have pics (sorry some of them are a little out of focus).

Rode up to Wilderness State Park. Then it was up and over to the Mackinaw Bridge. Took this shot, then rode over the bridge to the U.P. and back.

While I was in St. Ignace, I went to a tourist trap. Call me a freak, but I love to check out these cheesy, politically incorrect stores. Sometimes I'll even buy a postcard at these places.

Now, the great thing about having a dual sport is riding on the road and off. When I'm on the road, I look for signs like this:

These seasonal roads are all gnarly. I don't see how cars can make it down these roads. That's ok; I'm not a big fan of cars anyway!
