So my friend Sally emails me and tells me that I'm invited to a camping trip she's organizing. It mostly consisted of folks from the IT dept. where I work, but others were there too.
Hopped on the KilLeR and headed out from A2 up 23 to 75 over to 13 and up 65 then over through Atlanta and finally up to Vanderbilt. Met Sally at the campsite and got settled in. It's kinda funny because Sally likes to camp at rustic campgrounds, and then brings everything but her own bathroom with her! It's all good. She had some stuff that I forgot, for sure.
The area was beautiful. Here are some pics taken from the campground.
Ok, let's get down to business...
The first morning I headed out for a ride. I had heard that I could take two-tracks right from the campground directly into the state forest and disappear. That's exactly what I did. I found miles of paths to wander on and barely covered the acreage of the park.
Now, remember how I said that the Pirelli MT 21 would get you out of any mudhole? Well, that's not exactly the case. Riding alone, I'm a bit less adventurous than if I were with someone. I decided not to continue down this path, afraid I might get stuck. While turning around I did just that. The pic shows my bike before getting REALLY stuck. Needless to say I go a work out on that one!
