Ann Arbor-Vermont

I was going to take a trip out West this summer to visit a dirtass buddy of mine who got married and hasn't told me yet. Yeah, I was going to just show up on his doorstep. Well, I was a little nervous about going all the way to Missoula for my first real long motorcycle trip. I ended up going out to Vermont to visit my grandparents. My mom was going out there with a friend of hers, so we all met up on Grand Isle.

I took I-94 out of A2 and through Detroit to the Ambassador bridge. I don't care what anyone tells you about Detroit's "revitalization", that place is a hole. It stinks, it's ugly, and it's bad even just passing through. Anyway, Crossed the bridge and entered Canada. Got onto highway 3 to avoid the 401 (thanks for the advice Wes and Teddy). It's a great drive right along Lake Erie. It's weird, I've never driven along a highway next to a body of water for so long without having houses and/or resorts lined up so thick that you didn't know there was water there. This was great. The corn fields went right up to the edge of the water.

Stopped overnight at Presque Isle Provincial Park. It's a nice place to camp if you don't like to camp. I was there for about 8 hours.

Crossed over to NY just North of Cape Vincent and headed down to Watertown and over on NY Highway 3. Didn't stop to take pics in NY, but got a shot going across on the ferry from Plattsburg, New York to Grand Isle, Vermont.

Arrived at Grampa's place with no problems and settled in. The next day it rained all day, which was good, because it gave my sore butt time to recover from the 700 miles I had put on in the past two days. Got an email that night from Seth who is on the ECDSG Yahoo Group. He wanted to get together for a ride the next day. I was stoked.
